Hi, I was a member a few years ago and I’m trying to find a very important file I posted. I can’t remember my username, is there anyway to find it if I provide my email address?

Well whatever your forgotten username was, I hope it had a bit more class than the one you are using now.

Moderators cannot see user's email addresses but Admins can.

I am pretty sure that you can't register two usernames on the same email address s if you used the same email address now as what you used to register before things might get complicated.

Our Admin will probably get in touch when he sees this, depending on his workload of course. 8-)

Doug is spot on, including my disdain for class-less usernames. If you posted under 2 posts and have not accessed the forum in the last year, your account was automatically deleted in the Village Purge Wars earlier this year. And a terrible war it was, over 8,000 casualties.

Thank God this forum is not dead but re-newed.

I used to be an active member (long time ago when there was Visual Sensations time yet) but then I went silent for a very long time. Time to speak up again.
Nevertheless, purge is good. I know how it looks like with other forums and such action becomes necessary some day.

Hello all.

Admittedly I have been a long time lurker here but I understand the recent purge and I'm happy to contribute as much as I can.

It's not easy and clear what to do as a newbie

It actually is not all that difficult to work it out. In fact it is all spelt out to you in yellow and black in this topic:

For Newly Registered Members - MUST READ INSTRUCTIONS! which you will find if you go here: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=2958#p30794

What part of "MUST READ INSTRUCTIONS" is it that you all do not seem to understand?

Truly, we are trying to make this as easy for you as we can and at least 95 percent of you are getting it. For the rest of you this is the LAST TIME I am spelling it out for you.

If I may add, I would gladly pay a reasonable subscription fee to expand this forum’s capabilities. I think it’s worth it and might add more contributors and content!

as a long time viewer, I would totally pay subscription fee in support of this site. I understand the new newbie rules. (for the record not a fan of the term newbie as I'm been part of this community for a long time.)

We appreciate the support and comments. Creating this site, for someone as technically illiterate as me - particularly since I'm post-millennial, was like climbing Mt. Everest on the Internet.

The term "newbie" is appropriate as you're new to posting. Please note that the admin settings provide that the more one posts, their title changes, and they earn stars (that's right, just like in kindergarten!). We have special titles that are not automatic, but are voted upon by the moderators in closed session in a dark room replete with robes and candles. Here are the rankings that have been in place since 2014 with little change:

I concur. I would be willing to pay a subscription fee if need be. Clearly, I understand that maintaining the servers and infra requires effort and some expenditure and I am willing to contribute.
