I've had issues getting onto dumparump of late. Is it dead or just 'down'?

I too just tried to open it up in a browser and was unable to get anything. My experience with file hosting sites is that sometimes they switch out servers and go down for a couple of days as they migrate their files. I hope this is the case.

I encourage everyone to sit tight and keep using dumparump if it comes back on line. It is one of the rare file hosting sites that doesn't redirect the viewer to a malicious site and/or automatically open up spam pages in the browser.

And if they are just down for an upgrade, lets hope they do not have to finance it with malicious links and become just like the others.

I agree that making copies and resizing is painful but I’m now a big fan of their service.

Pictures displayed on a computer screen should look fine with file size 300KB or smaller so a 2MB limit from a free storage site seems reasonable to me. The site does have to pay for their hard disk to store the pictures.

Reducing a large file to a smaller one is pretty easy. I use Irfanview as it is easy to use for single pictures. There are also freeware programs that will resize multiple files easily. See https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/d ... Resize.htm

I find the current version of Windows PAINT best. Unless you use a Mac you will have it.

...AND if you DO use a Mac the "PREVIEW" app (part of the installed system software)
will allow you to size / resize / rotate / annotate / append / reconfigure / export / save as any one of a number of file formats
It also allows multiple layers of transparency if you wish to overlay text etc. onto a graphic / photo

just sayin' ...
I used to admin WinDOZE networks

AND I only use Macs and linux boxes now so,
'nuff said
